The Bertram 38 Special was built with the serious offshore sportsman in mind, combining legendary Bertram ride quality with comfortable accommodations for extended trips. Below deck, the layout comfortably sleeps four and features a spacious V-berth, cedar-lined hanging locker, enclosed head with stall shower, convertible dinette, and an L-shaped galley equipped with refrigerator/freezer, cooktop, microwave, and ample storage.
Topside is where the 38 Special truly shines. The expansive bridgedeck offers excellent visibility along with generous seating and entertaining space for everything from casual daytime cruising to evening dockside gatherings. The elevated helm layout provides room for modern electronics, while the tower-equipped configuration enhances offshore fishability and visibility.
The oversized tournament-style cockpit is purpose-built for serious fishing and includes a transom door and gate, tackle and utility storage, sink with freshwater supply, rod holders, outriggers, center rigger, and deep freezer (currently not operational).
This vessel is equally at home as an offshore fishing platform, comfortable cruiser, overnight getaway boat, or extended liveaboard-style adventure vessel. Power comes from a pair of economical and reliable 550HP Cummins diesel engines, complemented by substantial fuel and freshwater capacity along with an 8kW generator, making her exceptionally well suited for extended cruising or island-hopping adventures.
