1986 Azimut 56 Sportfish
Reel Happiness is a very rare and well-maintained vessel. Azimut made six of these boats in the mid-80s and applied their legendary Italian fit and finish to the sportfish market. This is an open flybridge version rigged with a tuna tower. Fisability is extraordinary with comfort to match. Galley/salon up and three staterooms below. Huge cockpit and swim platform. This boat was always a pet project for her owner and has been constantly improved and upgraded. Currently, she is set up with new electronics, a new generator, a new watermaker, and a great overall equipment package. Clean boat, with spotless engine room and bilges. A rare find!
She was hauled out in November 2023 for a fresh bottom job and other misc work.
MUST SEE if you are looking for something fabulous and unique.
The master stateroom in the bow has a large double berth with storage and A/C air handler under. There are lockers on both sides and a large mirror on the forward bulkhead. The decorative finish is to a high standard with vinyl-covered headliner and bulkheads with wood cabinetry.
There are two heads with one leading off the master state-room and the other accessed from the passageway leading aft to the other cabins and the main saloon. Both are similar with separate glass enclosed shower stalls, wash basins and toilets. The decorative finish is in marble and hardwood with Formica. The toilets are of the electric flushing type.
There are two of staterooms, other than the master stateroom, which lead off the main passageway with one to port and one to starboard. These both have 2-tier bunks. Storage lockers are provided in each cabin.
There are two main areas, comprising the galley and dining area on the port side and lounge and bar to starboard. This is well furnished in hardwood cabinetry. Near the exit door to the cockpit is a glass fronted fishing rod stowage locker. The accommodation is carpeted throughout.
The saloon also contains the main switchboard panels (AC & DC) and remote generator starting position. An unusual feature is the mimic panel of the vessel displaying indicator lights of the bilge pumps operation and for the navigation lights.
